Skylar wrapped his arm protectively through the strap of his sword. Sighing, he looking in the mirror of the dim hotel room, trying to make sure that he looked alright. His hair was messy as usual, looking like it had been thrown carelessly on top of his head. His eyes, burning bright blue, looked almost human now without the red tell-tale pupils that gave away his demon heritage. His ears were only slightly pointed now instead of the long, pointed, elf-looking things they usually were. All in all, Skylar thought it was safe to assume that he was looking safely human.
'Time to go out. I don't think that my friends will kill themselves.' Skylar thought with a sigh, making sure that his black jacket was straight. He looked around the room one last time before making sure that all of his necessary ingredients for potions and the like. He also had to make sure that they were safely stored away...many of the things that he needed to kill others of his kind could harm him, as well.
'See you later, Artemis.' The black haired boy said to the picture on his dresser, where a black haired girl with green eyes was smiling back at him. He gave her one last grin before leaving the hotel room, sticking the key in his pocket. He gave a wave to the clerk downstairs as he went into the world of the humans, loving the way he could be completely unnoticeable under the cover of such a mundane stench.
Before long, he came to a bench near a little food stand. He bought some bread and decided to take a break for a little while. Sitting on the bench, he began to munch on the food, trying not to wince at the tasteless substance. Bread was always more flavorful in his world...but he had to make it look as though he enjoyed this here. It was the normal way...the way of the humans.
What Skylar wouldn't give to be one.

It's been about three days since Tsubasa arrived in this world and ever since then, he's been marveling at everything there is to see. The architecture, the classical music, the clothing style, everything! The thing that he just can't seem to find more interesting is the clothes, though! Of course there were a few moderations to fit his own style, but nevertheless, he definitely grew fond of the clothing that's so different than his home world's clothing. However, despite his new found love, he decided to dress in more thinner clothing today that didn't take a lot to put on considering that the demon he started sensing today wouldn't be fun to chase down in layers of clothing. Strange...I didn't really think that there'd be demons in this world...but I suppose that's a good thing. Otherwise, I'd be forced to leave this world soon if I couldn't find one demon at the risk of losing control... Besides, I may have to leave here soon anyway. There's not even a chance I'll run into this thing.
Tsubasa slips out the door after waving to the hotel keeper with a notification that he'd be returning later and that he's not leaving then starts to walk leisurely down the street. Despite the fact that in other worlds he's been in related to this one people have vowed as a proper greeting, he can still sense the utter politeness and charm in the people as they pass with merry smiles and some humming joyous tunes to themselves. He hadn't been out in public for ten minutes before he was feeling just as light-hearted as everyone else in the orange and pink tinted town. Although, that doesn't steal his attention away from his rumbling stomach that beckons to be fed at least once today. Tsubasa chuckles to himself, sniffing the air around him to be drawn by the first most appealing aroma.
The fresh smell of hot, sweet bread fills his nostrils, inveigling him toward the scent of the fluffy pastries just waiting for him to scarf down. He allows it to pull him in closer, following it almost blindly. Has it really been a while since I've eaten...? His eyelid slowly shut, allowing his smell to be his eyes. Bad idea, actually. The next thing Tsubasa's aware of is his belly ramming into the top board of a bench and flinging his upper body over the ledge and nearly into the seat.
"Ow..." He winces slightly, glancing over at the presence beside him, eyes widening slightly.

"Ow...,"
Skylar whipped his head around to stare at the human who had nearly landed in his lap. His eyes widened as he took in the pretty complexion, the light brown hair, the golden eyes that sparkled in the sunlight. He was lightly interested; he'd only seen boys this pretty in hell...and usually, they had attitudes that were as nasty as they were handsome.
Are you alright? Skylar asked, his gentle tenor carrying over to the boy. 'He doesn't look much older than this form I have on now...,' the demon thought, not bothering to smile...but just to stare. 'I wonder if he could help me learn how to be like humans...that is, if I can get him to stay and not run him off in ten minutes as I did the others.'
Skylar had a hard time making friends. Sometimes, he guessed he was just scary to the other humans...most of them wanted nothing to do with him because of their innate ability to sense powerful demons such as himself. Then, even those that stayed past that were scared away by his weird personality and all the questions he would ask. They never wanted to talk with him about demons, or about how you would go about killing these creatures.
As he stared at the boy beside him, he thought he felt a faint tugging at his heart, a whisper that things were about to change. Yet, it was gone as soon as it had come, and he dismissed it as some kind of disturbance caused by the food.

Tsubasa is instantly captivated by this young male's voice. He begins wondering what it is...the silky black hair, the deep and shining blue eyes, the creamy complexion he has- heck! Everything about him was dang near perfect, well, at least in Tsubasa's eyes. It was almost something out of a fairy tale, no human he's ever seen has ever been so beautiful. That hits home hard. That's right...only demons can look this beautiful...that's what drew me to him...I haven't been given any reason to believe that he's a demon beside that, so there's no point in exterminating him.
"Are you alright?"
He immediately replies with a bright smile and energetic nod, a hum of reassurance buzzing past his lips.
"Yes, I'm fine~ Sorry about that, sir... I wasn't exactly paying attention to where I was going~" Tsubasa glances over at the bread vendor and pushes himself upright to saunter over to the vendor and order a sweet roll, ignoring him for a short minute before turning back and taking a seat beside him. Feeling the male's eyes trained on him, he smiles back at him gently, slightly uncomfortable under the other's gaze.
"I suppose we have yet to introduce each other~ My name is Tsubasa Eien. What's yours?" he asks, holding a hand out generously to greet him, taking a quick nibble of his bread.

'Even his voice is...perfect...,' The demon thought, staring at the human with interest. There were only two words that could suit such a person - beautiful and adorable. the brown haired person was just the male that Skylar had always dreamed of having, ever since he discovered himself to like other males; someone who was cute, energetic, and friendly enough to draw him out of his shell. He smiled with amusement as he realized that no demon could have ever fit that description, no matter how much he looked before. Demons were not creatures that were capable of having pure intentions, of being kind and nurturing. They could only kill, hurt, and destroy...never could they love.
And when they did...the results were always tragic.
You are perfectly fine. Don't mind me. Skylar called gently, giving the boy a small nod. He watched as the other went to go get a sweet roll, and returned. His eyes widened as the male said his name; only a human would say something so powerful so fast. Unless it was an alias, of course.
"My name is Tsubasa Eien." Skylar found himself frowning as he heard the name. He began to ponder it, wondering where he'd heard the name before.
My name is Skylar. Skylar Chase. Skylar uttered his human name quietly, taking the boy's hand, trying to ignore how adorable this human looked as he munched on his treat. With a firm shake, he realized that he had established a relationship...and opened up a link with this person...something he hadn't been able to do for a very long time.
Is that good? Skylar asked, looking curiously at the other male's bread. I've never had one of those...I'm not from around here, you see. This piece of bread smells nice, but it doesn't really taste very good. I think the vendor said it was wheat? The demon explained, shrugging his shoulders. He might as well glean as much information from the boy as he could before moving on to another human who could tell him more. After all, this was all 'Tsubasa' was - someone whom he could glean information from.

Tsubasa watches him, barely noticing that thoughts keep running through his blue eyes from time to time. It interested him in all honestly. He found himself even wondering what could possibly bouncing around behind those beautiful eyes of his. There seemed to be a thought that stood out among the rest in his eyes, almost as though it were something more important than all the others in some way, which got Tsubasa's intrigue all the more excited, but he decides against it considering they just met and all. He catches the short frown before it's gone again when he speaks.
"My name is Skylar. Skylar Chase."
His eyes widened a bit when hearing his lush voice run into his ears, informing such a beautiful name. Skylar? How gorgeous... It took him a few seconds before realizing that his hand is still held on tightly to the other male's, now known as Skylar, and he pulls away quickly with a blush. His heart jumps unexpectedly and there's a sudden pang of regret, as though he really didn't want to pull away from Skylar's soft skin contact.
"Is that good?"
"Huh, oh, yes~ It's very good~ I love the bread in this country, they always make such delicious selections." He listens to him while he explains the choice he got and how it tastes, then smiles at him gently.
"Well, wheat isn't exactly a fan favorite, but it's the healthiest. Here," he tells him, tugging off a piece of the sweet roll and offering it to him. "Try this kind~"

Skylar smiled at the boy, noticing how he continued to look deep into his eyes. When their gazes met, he could see such curiosity in those golden orbs...and many things he could not recognize. He'd never seen golden eyes on a human before; that intrigued him. 'Perhaps he isn't human after all.' The demon mused. 'Maybe he's a demon with an excellent ability to block his presence.'
Whatever Tsubasa was, one thing was for certain - he was the most interesting thing that Skylar had found today. From the way that his named reminded the demon of flight to how adorable he acted, the black haired male could no longer deny that he wanted to stay around. He was certain that Tsubasa would have more to teach him than anyone else at the moment...something that he was more than willing to take advantage of. He memorizes the feeling of the warm, smooth skin on his fingers before Tsubasa takes his back, smiling to let the boy know that he didn't think anything of their encounter.
'What has he to be embarrassed about? It isn't as if he knows who he is addressing - if he did know, then he would certainly not stick around to blush. Is there something wrong with holding one's hands for a long time?' In the demon world, contact was considered a very low-key thing. You touched someone for almost everything - marriage, sex, greetings, actions between friends and family...the list went on. To think that humans had problems with mere contact...it was simply amazing to Skylar.
'So the bread here is good, huh? The demon wondered, looking down at his own and nodding. When he heard Tsubasa offering some of his own, the male looked up in shock. What he had seen from humans so was that they were selfish creatures that didn't like to share. Skylar was surprised that Skylar woudl do such a thing.
I would love some. Thank you. Skylar gently took the bread as though it were a precious treasure, relishing the second of skin contact that his fingers made with Tsubasa's. Then, he took the bread, studied it for just a moment, and popped it into his mouth. His eyes widened with the taste; to think that something so sweet existed! He nodded as he chewed, deciding that this was definitely better than the brown 'wheat' stuff that he had just chosen. I really do like this better...I've got a bit of a sweet tooth, you see.
That was the understatement of the century. Skylar loved sweet things...and salty things...and sour things...heck, he just liked food that had abundant flavor. He didn't care for things that were bland and boring - his food had to have some sort of sparkle to it, something that would stimulate his taste buds. Anything as bland as wheat bread was usually thrown into the trash.
This place is beautiful. Skylar said softly, looking around at the nature around them. This place - Lecourt, he belived it was called - was definitely one of the most beautiful places he'd ever been. He was glad to be here even more now that he had someone just as beautiful as the nature around them to keep him company.

His eyes...are just so beautiful... Tsubasa thought to himself, secretly loving the trance he has fallen into when just gazing in his own gaze. It's a void, but a good type of void, mind you. However, the power of enchantment the male has really started to make Tsubasa think that this male truly is a demon. He shakes his head to himself, disconnecting their link. No, I don't want to think about that right now... There's no reason for me to make assumptions, he's not a demon until he says it himself or shows me himself... He turns his head away a bit more at the conflicting emotions within him. He really does want to find a demon to keep him from going insane, and besides, he did sense a demon earlier...but there's just no way that he could ever do anything crude to this guy...could he?
He blushes just a tad bit more when Skylar smiles back at him, but it dies down a bit when he reads that it didn't mean much to him. Of course it wouldn't...what am I thinking? This guy probably has nothing to do with me in that way... I'm just some crazy guy he met, not some future love interest... WHAT AM I SAYING NOW!!?? THERE'S NO WAY THAT I LIKE THIS GUY ENOUGH TO CONSIDER HIM A LOVE INTEREST!! What is wrong with me now days...am I truly that desperate for a companion...even though I know that it'll only hurt them in the end...? That's wrong of me... I need to stop thinking this way...
Tsubasa found Skylar's surprise at his offering quite amusing, not being able to knock the goofy grin off his face at the cuteness factor emanating off this lovely male.
"I would love some. Thank you."
He nods happily, watching while his face lights up at the new flavor, making Tsubasa's heart leap at the innocent enjoyment. You'd think it's almost as though he's never had bread before... His eyes widen and a huge smiles slaps onto his face hearing him talk about his sweet tooth.
"YOU TOO!? I love sweets! They're just so delicious! Have you had any of the sweets here!? They're absolutely to-die-for~" he rants gleefully, without a care in the world with the people glancing over at his sudden outburst. His eyes sparkle joyously at him until he speaks again.
This place is beautiful.
His expression calm into a more gentle manner, a soft smile lining his lips and he nods at him.
"It truly is... It's nice to see worlds like this that have this sort of style. The architecture and style of everything is much different than my home world, but still very addictive and lovely~" Tsubasa tells him lightly, eyes never leaving his new center of interest.

Skylar could tell that he said something that Tsubasa didn't like; the way that the boy's eyes fell, the way that the golden color darkened slightly told him that he had done something wrong...and the demon felt bad for it. This suprised him - he hadn't thought that he would ever feel bad about anything, because of what it was. His very existence caused trouble for everyone involved with him...yet for some reason, a random human male was making him feel as though he had done something horrible by just an utterance of words.
Maybe I've spent too much time here. I might need to go back home before I completely loose my head. Skylar thought, a pang of sadness running through his heart. He knew that he couldn't do that - home was too dangerous now. He had to learn the secrets of demons before one of the stronger demons in his father's legion came to destroy him. Skylar knew that he needed to be considering all of these things...but for some reason, all he wanted to do right now was talk to Tsubasa.
I'm certainly glad. I think that people who don't like sugar are just strange. How can you not like something that tastes so good? Skylar chuckles a little at the male's outburst. He finds himself blushing again at his cuteness...how could a human seem so appealing to him in such a short time? Tsubasa was a person who was just good, inside and out. It might not be a crime to trust him for a little while...I just might have to try it.
Your home world? You're not from here? Skylar asked curiously, his eyebrows raising. The only ones he had ever heard being able to travel the dimensions were other demons, the dimensional witch, and a certain group of travelers that had the whole town buzzing. He hadn't thought that a mere human could do something like that...unless Tsubasa wasn't a human. Immediately, Skylar's guard went up; he realized how foolish he had been, and began looking for an escape route if he needed it.

(I wish I could've written more than this TT-TT I just didn't know how to write a reply for the first two paragraphs xD Forgive me -3-!!)
"I'm certainly glad. I think that people who don't like sugar are just strange. How can you not like something that tastes so good?"
Tsubasa nods his head vigorously in reply. "I KNOW!! It's sooo good and it makes you feel like there's a happy rainbow party in your mouth~ Plus, it's just soooooo delicious!" He catches the mild pink tint on the male's cheeks, grin growing all the more at his own adorableness. Even if a romantic relationship idea was too much for him to thing, Tsubasa did find himself really enjoying the idea of them at least forming a friendship. After all, Tsubasa thought that Skylar was awesome, so why would he even want to separate the beginning of such a great friendship?
Your home world? You're not from here?
He blinks then smiles at him again. "No, I'm not. I come from a world called Nihon and-" He stops when feeling the sudden emotion of their atmosphere change, making his face drop into one of confusion. He doesn't understand what the sudden change is or how it came about, all he really knows is that now there's this desire to be separated from each other. The light in his eyes dulls a bit and sadness seeps into the cracks of his heart. Why...does it not feel like he wants to leave...? Did I do something wrong...?

You're fine! ^.^
A rainbow party in your mouth? Skylar's eyes widened at the words as he tried his hardest not to laugh. Tsubasa was a strange, childish creature...but he found that more than enjoyable. Being around him just made the heart light up...made it seem like all the crap in your life wasn't so bad. He was indeed hoping now for a little more than a mutual acquaintanceship between them - maybe if they could see each other every day, Sky wouldn't want to make as many stupid decisions or -
No. Skylar thought. Involving myself with anyone is the last thing I need to do right now. If anything, I should be staying away...after all, I don't even know what Tsubasa is. He might just be one of my father's legions trying to get an up on me. After all...he knows that I don't go for girls...and this just seems too...too..too perfect.
Oh, how Sky hated to admit that. His eyes studied Tsubasa carefully now, watching for signs of malice in those golden orbs, or in that cute little face. All he found was confusion at the moment - had he caught on to Sky's suspicion? Was he about to prove him right, just as all the others had? Nihon? I've heard of that. It was a world where his kin lived...the oni. Sky had thought about going to hide with them several times, but had never actually done it. This information made him feel a little better, but it didn't mean much. How could Sky known that his last sanctuary hadn't been taken over, too?

"A rainbow party in your mouth?"
"Uh-huh~ Just think of it! Sweets are nothing but different colors when you actually focus on the flavors~ I love sweets so much and they form so many different vibrant colors in my mouth!!" He chuckles to himself, sort of finding his explanation a lot more silly out loud but nonetheless agreeing with it. Tsubasa smiles softly at his new friend, if that would be what he'd call him by now. He hadn't truly had any friends when growing up, and even in his adult life, he's had no friends since he's always on the move. To actually sit down and speak with someone like this is a moment that Tsubasa cherishes.
He really does believe that he wants the to be a true friendship, but he's had fun and nice talks with people from other worlds as well and he left them behind without giving them a second care...they usually forgot about him as well so there was really no point in making too much of an attachment and caring too overtly later. Is that all that this is? Another relationship that is meant to be a brief meeting, maybe some hanging out until Tsubasa finds all the demons he can on this world, then moves on to the next only to forget the bond he's created with him? Gods, he sure hopes not.
Tsubasa still didn't care all too much for the way that Skylar scanned him over, but he can't deny that he doesn't enjoy his eyes on him at least a bit in some way. And even despite the pain he is feeling from the sudden change in atmosphere, he can't help but grin at him a bit...how could you not with such a face, after all?
"Nihon? I've heard of that."
He nods slowly, understanding those words. "Yes, it is a pretty known world for some odd reason... I lived my whole life there up until a while back..." Sighing to himself, he looks away from him. That's the place where my whole life changed... If I didn't have to, I prefer I never have to return there again...

Skylar had to chuckle again, nodding at Tsubasa's words. I suppose you are right. I've never really thought about it like that before. He certainly didn't think of things with the words 'happy' and 'rainbow' in them. That was far from the norm of his culture...and even though he was seperated from it right now, he couldn't say that he was completely free from the hold that his kind had left on him growing up.
Skylar was glad he'd found someone he could talk to in Tsubasa. Back in the day, he had been very popular - considering who his father was, everyone wanted to be his friend. There had only been a select few that he'd chosen to hang out with, but it was still fun to be fawned over by everyone. Especially when you had a sister as cute as -
He slammed that thought down, trying not to wince. There was no way that he was going to think about her right now. It was still too soon to try and entertain thoughts about her. Even her name was enough to send him into waves of fury and anguish right now. However, Skylar knew it was futile to resist. No matter how many worlds he traveled to, how many times he started over with new people and new places, she was always in the back of his mind. Always.
Skylar opened his mouth to ask what he meant by that...but he decided better of it. It's the same for me. He said softly, chancing a look over at Tsubasa. Though my home is not a very pleasant place...I still kind of miss it now that I cannot return. Skylar shrugs his shoulders as he feels his guard slipping away again - how was it that this boy managed to tear down his walls and make him weak?!?!
With surprise, Skylar discovered that the sky was actually becoming quite dark. He of all people knew that it wasn't safe out on the streets at night. Turning toward the male beside him, he smiled. It's getting rather dark out. Would you like to go somewhere lighter? Lecourt had just entered into its holiday season, so stores would be open a lot longer. Skylar sighed at himself; he shouldn't have stayed here long enough to know that.

"I suppose you are right. I've never really thought about it like that before."
Tsubasa chuckles, smiling at him. "Yeah, not a lot of people do. I've always been a little on the crazy side in explanations... Oh, well~ At least I try to have fun and make the best of things~" I sorta have to after all... I mean...sure I still have tons of time left, but I still do have a limit on my lifetime... Why not make the best of the time that I have been granted with? Even if that time is meant to be spent killing demons... His grin automatically broadens to cover up his thoughts' desire to overpower his expression, and he seriously did not need that happening in front of Skylar. Then again...if he really is a demon...can he read my thoughts? A cold chill runs throughout his body. Yep...I'm dead... He sighs to himself, trying to keep it as unnoticeable as possible.
"It's the same for me."
Eyes widening a bit and followed by his jaw dropping slightly, Tsubasa's head snaps back around to his, searching for some emotion he may have missed in his words hidden on his face. Listening to Skylar speak again, Tsubasa finds himself surprised more than he really should be. Of course, it's not the first time he's meeting someone who's from a different world that also travels, but he supposes that it coming from Skylar was a completely new feeling to him. Almost as though he found some other new connection between the two of them and finds himself grinning at that realization.
"It's getting rather dark out. Would you like to go somewhere lighter?"
He honestly hasn't even noticed the change of the coloring in the sky. Blinking a few times, he smiles happily at him with a short nod. "Sure~ Sounds fun~"

Skylar smiled at Tsubasa, listening with great interest as he explained. Never before had there been some person that he could just listen to for hours upon hours, wishing that time would just stop and he could be frozen in this moment. All Sky wanted to do was talk with this male for the rest of eternity; if only that were something plausible...if humans didn't have limits on their lifespan. I think that you're just fine at it. I understand everything that you say...but better than that, you help me see more than just my own view of the world. It's nice to have someone who doesn't just agree with you the entire time.
Did I just say something that I shouldn't have? Skylar wondered, trying to keep his face from betraying his shock. His mind soon found something else to occupy it, however - he saw a slight shadow fall across Tsubasa's face, unnoticable to anyone who didn't have eyes like Skylar's. Hey...is everything okay? He asked softly, resisting the urge to scoot closer to the other male. After all, he didn't want to weird the poor kid out. They'd only known each other for a short while now, and Sky had decided that he liked this relationship; he would do anything to preserve it.
Skylar smirked. Surprised? He asked quietly. I suppose you don't run into many people with similarities like that. He turned the full force of his gaze on those golden eyes, searching for the answers that would tell him more about Tsubasa. What was his favorite color? What was his past like? Had he loved anyone before? Was he really the kind person that he seemed to be?
The demon stood up, nodding to the small candy shop across the way. I find that I don't like staying out at night. It seems as though it's always more dangerous now in every world I come across. Skylar smiled, shrugging. You said you had a sweet tooth, right? Why don't we go see if there's something good in there?
